Hamilton had a carpentry shop in Manchester NH, USA. He was married in Inverness and he and his wife moved to Montieth, northern Ont. where they did pioneer work for 20 years. They moved to Inverness Village in 1929 and he died there in 1940. He and his wife are buried in Boutell cemetery PQ. His wife died in Inverness February 22, 1942.
